Russ Draper knows how important the early years are for boys. At 16 years old, he was saved during a youth revival in a church where he would later become the pastor. Russ earned his Associate of Arts in Pastoral Ministries in 1988 from Williams Baptist College, and returned to complete his Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1994. We welcomed him to the ABC team in February 2017. These days, Russ spends his time ministering to boys ages 6 to 17 as the interim director of the Arkansas Baptist Boys Ranch, serving in administration, recreation, animal husbandry and as interim pastor. The rural ranch setting is a perfect match for this avid outdoorsman. His hobbies include carving, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, kayaking and pretty much anything else under the sun. Russ and his wife, Rene’, have been married for 12 years. The couple has several dogs that believe they are children.
