Hope comes in many forms. Sometimes hope takes the form of a safe and secure home or a simple hug from a loved one. At other times, hope is a comfortable bed and three healthy meals a day.
Unfortunately, many children, teens and single mothers in Arkansas find themselves in hopeless situations of life. Like Job in the Bible, they often ask, “Where then is my hope … ?” Job 17:15a (NIV).
Sarah,* who has been in our care since 2015, has recently found hope in a new adoptive home.
“Because of past experiences, Sarah was very angry and confused when she first came into our care,” shared her housedad. “As time went on, she would talk to me, and eventually even smile at my dorky jokes. “Every time I dropped her off at school, I would tell her, ‘have a great day, don’t kiss any boys and we love you.’”
When the housedad received the call notifying him of Sarah’s adoption, he and his family were saddened to lose her, but most thankful that she now has hope for a wonderful future. “In two years, I have seen God’s grace transform a sassy, teenage girl, into a beautiful, Godly young woman,” he added.
